Smartphone Entry FAQ

APP UPDATE - July 14, 2021

  • Iphone users may experience app crashes - please re-install the app if this happens to you
  • Iphone users may experience that the app home screen is not responsive to unlock commands, please go to "list entries/unit" menu at bottom of app (the small door icon).  From here the unlock command functions well

ABOUT THE STORAGE SMART ENTRY BY NOKE APP

  • All Bow City Storage customers have access to the App, whether you have a smart unit or not.
  • All of our entry doors, including the overhead loading bay doors can be opened with the App
  • The App uses Bluetooth encrypted technology so you have to be within range of the door to open it.  You know you are within range when the "unlock" button appears red

SETTING UP THE STORAGE SMART ENTRY BY NOKE APP 

  • On your Move in Day you will receive a text message to your cellphone to download the App. Some cellphone providers are known to block the text message, so if you did not receive a text message - please download the storage smart entry by noke app
  • You will need to know your Apple password in order to download a new App
  • To get a text message to download the App our software needs a cellphone on your account. If you booked a unit online and didn’t enter in your cell number our system will not recognize it. In this case, call us at 403 269-2489

TIPS FOR USING THE APP

  • You have to be within 20 feet of the door you are trying to open
  • Ensure your Bluetooth is enabled
  • Ensure your location services are enabled
  • Ensure your mobile data is turned on

WHAT IF THE APP ISN’T WORKING

  • Try closing out of the app and reopening it
  • Try re-installing the app
  • If you’re talking on the phone in your car via Bluetooth, try hanging up
  • Check for an available update in the App store or Google Play

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF THE APP

  • You can share a digital key with someone you trust by hitting the “+” in the upper right hand corner of the screen
  • Ask us about purchasing an additional FOB key to access the building or your unit
